About Herridge Pottery

Hello, I'm Henrietta.

I started Herridge Pottery in 2024, working from my studio in South Oxfordshire. I love all things clay, in particular throwing on the wheel, and I take great pride in creating handmade ceramics that become part of our daily lives and rituals. Every piece I make is uniquely handcrafted with slight variations that add to its charm—no two pieces are exactly alike, making them perfectly imperfect.

The name "Herridge" comes from my granddad Geoffrey, and reflects a family tradition of artists and makers. I take pride in keeping this heritage alive, working in small batches so that everything is made with care and intention.

The shop is updated periodically with new 'drops.' "What's a drop?" I hear you asking! Working in small batches, instead of adding new pieces every few days, I will complete larger shop updates every few weeks. If you'd like to be the first to know when fresh pieces are available, feel free to sign up for my mailing list or follow along on Instagram, where I regularly share my latest work and studio happenings.

Sustainability is hugely important to me. That's why when you open your order there may be odd wadding and wrapping used to protect each piece. When packing your orders for delivery, I try to use materials that are compostable, and / or recyclable. Or, I'm re-using packaging that I've received myself.

Seconds are a common part of pottery life and I would rather, where possible, that they are are used. Otherwise they become drainage crocks for my flower pots! Seconds are only available for sale directly from my studio, they are priced at a significant discount. I am happy to sell these knowing that you have had the opportunity to hold them, and discuss their imperfections before buying.

If you have any questions, would like to visit me in the studio, or are interested in a commission, I’d love to hear from you!
